Overview

Timothy Hawryluk, K.C. is the Managing Partner of Robertson Stromberg LLP. His practice is focused on litigation, specializing in insurance law, employment law, and the defense of professional negligence actions as against lawyers and law firms. His client list includes many of Saskatchewan’s leading law firms and companies in the areas of manufacturing and insurance, including a Crown Corporation.

In the area of professional negligence, Timothy has defended over 80 actions commenced against Saskatchewan lawyers and law firms. He has also acted as counsel for the Law Society of Saskatchewan.

Within his employment practice, Timothy’s advice has been sought on a variety of human resource management issues including large-scale corporate reorganizations, compliance and regulatory issues, and dismissals. He has also defended several companies which have sustained charges relating to serious injuries and fatalities that have occurred on the worksite.

Timothy has been appointed an Inquest Coroner by the Province of Saskatchewan and has served at inquests in relation to over 30 deaths. Most notably, Timothy was appointed Coroner’s Counsel for the James Smith Mass Casualty Inquest. This inquest inquired into the circumstances surrounding the largest mass stabbing event in Canadian history, which tragically resulted in 11 homicides and 17 attempted homicides. The resulting RCMP homicide investigation was the largest investigation conducted in Saskatchewan’s history, which involved over 500 members of the RCMP, 42 crime scenes, 257 witnesses, and in excess of 120,000 pages of investigatory materials. The inquest was reported to be the largest scale coroner’s inquest in Canadian history.
