Overview

Ryan Walter is an associate in DLA Piper's Corporate practice in Edmonton. He has a general corporate commercial practice with a focus on mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, commercial real estate transactions, tax-driven reorganizations, corporate finance, regulatory compliance and corporate governance. Ryan serves as general business counsel to entrepreneurs, owners and private investors, assisting with matters from start-up to sale, including corporate governance, contract negotiation and risk management strategy. He advises developers, investors and private owners on commercial leasing and land acquisitions and dispositions. His experience includes advising on the acquisition of a professional sports team, the sale of a Canadian construction business, strategic expansion into Eastern Canada, and the purchase and financing of a townhouse complex. Ryan was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 2015 and earned a JD from the University of Alberta in 2014. He is a member of the Law Society of Alberta and the Canadian Bar Association.
