Overview

Dean is a partner in the McKercher LLP Saskatoon office where he focuses on insurance law, particularly in insurance defence, subrogation, and coverage matters

Dean Stanley obtained his Bachelor of Commerce degree (with Distinction) in 2007 and his Bachelor of Laws degree in 2008 by completing the combined B.Comm./LL.B. program at the University of Saskatchewan. Dean articled with the Firm and joined as an Associate upon completion of his articles in May of 2009. He joined the partnership at McKercher LLP in 2017.

Dean’s practice focuses on insurance law, and particularly in insurance defence, subrogation, and coverage matters. He has appeared before all levels of Court in Saskatchewan.

In his free time, Dean enjoys basketball, yoga, running, and spending time with family and friends.

Dean was recently selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers™ in Canada 2026 in the field of Insurance Law for Saskatoon. He has been listed in Best Lawyers® since 2025.
