Overview

With a broad business background, David practices in the areas of franchise law, corporate/commercial litigation, insolvency law and business advice. Also, as a lawyer in McKercher LLP’s Entrepreneur Law Group, David advises entrepreneurs and franchisors in traditional business sectors and in Saskatchewan’s growing technology sector.

David was raised in rural Saskatchewan, attended the University of Saskatchewan for his undergraduate and law degrees and has operated a number of successful commercial ventures in Saskatchewan.

He has appeared at all levels of Court in Saskatchewan, as well as before the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench and Alberta Court of Appeal.

David is an avid rower and road biker and spends his spare time in the summer either training in a rowing shell on the South Saskatchewan River or on his bike on one of Saskatchewan’s many scenic highways.

As of 2023, David is a member of the Canadian Franchise Association Legal Affairs Committee.
