Patrick focuses on public and private mergers and acquisitions, private equity investment transactions, fund formation and debt and equity corporate finance. He also has significant expertise in corporate joint ventures and structured finance transactions.

Patrick acts for leading private equity funds, hedge funds and asset managers, as well as for enterprises of all sizes – from startups to multinationals. Known for his precise and detail-oriented advice, Patrick is trusted by clients to be their "eyes and ears on market trends" (Chambers Canada). He regularly applies his wide-ranging experience and good judgment to some of the country’s most high-profile transactions.

Patrick is a member of our Management Committee. Outside the firm, he provides pro bono services to small local organizations requiring legal services to help their communities.

Acted for Ironbridge Equity Partners Management Limited in its acquisition of Veradek Inc., a Canada-based designer of outdoor living space products.

Acted for Birch Hill Equity Partners and Brookfield Asset Management in their C$2.9-billion acquisition (and related financing) of First National Financial Corporation, one of Canada’s largest non-bank mortgage originators and underwriters.

Acted as lead counsel for Birch Hill Equity Partners in the formation of its seventh flagship fund, Birch Hill Equity Partners VII, which raised C$2.6 billion and is currently being deployed.

Acted for North American Produce Buyers Limited, a portfolio company of Ironbridge Equity Partners, in its merger with the Bamford Group, a leading supplier of fresh fruit and vegetables across wholesale, fresh-cut, and foodservice channels, and in the associated financing.
