Jaclin Cassios is counsel at Dentons' Edmonton office, practicing in the Corporate and Intellectual Property and Technology groups.
Jaclin's corporate practice focuses on guiding clients through a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, including corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions and other transactional matters such as drafting commercial agreements.
In her intellectual property practice, Jaclin provides strategic guidance to clients with respect to the management and expansion of their trademark portfolios. As a registered Canadian trademark agent, Jaclin has experience in all steps in the trademark process, from pre-application trademark clearance searches and opinions, to trademark filing, registration and renewal. Jaclin also regularly prepares intellectual property licensing agreements and assignment agreements, and advises on intellectual property-specific considerations in commercial transactions.
Jaclin also assists clients with various issues related to technology, privacy and access to information. She has experience in preparing terms of use, privacy policies, arguments to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta, assisting clients with breaches of security safeguards, and providing opinions on a variety of privacy matters including compliance with provincial and federal privacy legislation.
