Harkirat's practice is focused primarily on the areas of estate planning, estate administration, estate litigation, guardianships and trusteeships.  She has significant experience in drafting wills, power of attorney and personal directives.  Harkirat understands the importance of succession planning, and is dedicated to providing solutions for her clients with the utmost discretion. She is extremely knowledgeable in drafting all documents relating to estate plans, including prenuptial and cohabitation agreements, and testamentary and inter vivos trusts.
She regularly helps her clients obtain Grant of Probate, Grant of Administration, and with other estate administration matters, including advising executors on estate administration and carrying out all aspects of estate administration on behalf of the executors.
A passionate advocate, Harkirat focuses a large part of practice on estate litigation, including contested wills, capacity issues, undue influence, joint ownerships, beneficiary designation issues, and estate accounting issues. She has been involved in support claims for spouses and adult interdependent partners and support claims for dependent children.  Harkirat prides herself in providing practical advice to her clients considering the strengths and risks of every position.
Harkirat has extensive experience in adult guardianship and trusteeship matters and litigation.  She helps her clients in applying for adult guardianships and trusteeships, whether proceeding by desk or by hearing, and is always keen on helping families that require urgent adult guardianship and trusteeship orders from Court to attend to urgent personal and financial affairs of their loved ones.  As part of her practice, Harkirat has been involved in a number of contested adult guardianship and trusteeships matters, including matters involving trustee accounting, challenges by the proposed represented adult or challenges by the children or siblings of the represented adult.
