Overview
David Little is the National Leader of Dentons Canada's Venture Technology and Emerging Growth Companies Group and a member of the Canada Region Board. He has been instrumental in building Dentons’ venture technology practice both in Canada and globally. Dentons is now regularly ranked among the top 10 globally in venture capital deals, as reported in Pitchbook. David served for a decade as managing partner of Dentons’ Ottawa office, helping to build the office into the leading business law firm in the nation’s capital.
David focuses on representing funds and emerging companies in venture capital financings, cross-border transactions, buy-outs and M&A.
David regularly acts as principal external counsel for many of the leading venture capital investors in Canada in a broad range of financing transactions, including a number of the largest VC deals in Canada. He also provides ongoing advice to knowledge-based and other emerging companies, as well as senior executives, boards of directors and fund managers, through all stages of the growth cycle, from start-up through M&A and public financings. David has a broad range of expertise including governance, fund formation and equity compensation.
David’s sector expertise includes SaaS, telecommunications / radiocommunications including satellites, AgTech, and technology-enabled consumer focused companies. David regularly acts for Crown Corporations and other government-backed entities in their equity financing programs and has an established track record of helping these organizations achieve their objectives.
David has previously been an Adjunct Professor at the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Common Law where he lectured on securities law and venture capital.
