Overview

David Choi is a partner in McCarthy Tétrault's Business Law Group in Toronto. A corporate mergers and acquisitions lawyer with domestic and international experience, he advises on acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, partnership structures, corporate governance, financings and commercial transactions. His work covers Canadian, United States and Asia-Pacific matters, with particular experience involving Korea. David assists clients across industries including biotechnology, energy, mining, manufacturing, retail, telecommunications and financial services. He works with multijurisdictional teams on inbound and outbound transactions and helps businesses evaluate cross-border opportunities, manage risk and align transactions with their commercial objectives. His dual-region experience is especially relevant to Korean businesses investing in Canada and Canadian companies seeking Korean investors or strategic partners. David also contributes to professional publications on Korean corporate governance and private equity. He earned his law degree at the University of Alberta and was admitted in Saskatchewan in 2013 and Alberta in 2014.
