Brian is a partner and co-leader of the firm’s national Transportation and Logistics group.

Licensed to practise in Quebec since 2014 and in British Columbia since 2024, Brian leverages McCarthy Tétrault’s unique national platform to provide strategic advice to clients worldwide whose businesses intersect with the supply chain in Canada. His hybrid business and litigation practice includes mergers and acquisitions, all manner of commercial agreements, regulatory compliance, and licensing in all modes of surface and air transportation and warehousing, with a particular interest in structuring transactions and reorganizations in order to minimize impact to permits and registration.

Brian has provided advice in respect of numerous Canadian and cross-border purchase and sale agreements, reorganizations, and investments. He regularly acts for non-Canadian acquirers of warehouses, rail assets and aircraft, and assists them in negotiating regulatory hurdles and in understanding the Canadian market. He offers contractual solutions and advice on liability and risk exposure to warehousemen and storers, to rail carriers and owners of rail rolling stock, to motor carriers and brokers of freight, to shippers and beneficial cargo owners in all modes, to governments and municipalities, and to providers of public transportation, including in the areas of autonomous vehicles and Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (drones).
