Overview

Alexandra North, known professionally as Alex North, is a partner in Mintz's Toronto office with a broad banking and finance practice. She represents agents, lenders and borrowers in Canadian, United States and cross-border matters and regularly serves as Canadian counsel on fund financing transactions for North American and global banks. Her financing work includes cash-flow facilities, capital call and other sponsor financings, acquisition facilities, roll-ups and leveraged finance. She also handles commercial real estate and construction financing involving asset classes such as condominiums, health care, hotels, storage and cannabis. Before joining Mintz, Alex was a partner and associate at an international law firm, where she represented Canadian and international financial institutions and borrowers, principally on lender-side matters. She is admitted in Ontario and earned her JD with honours from Osgoode Hall Law School.
