Tyson Gratton is a partner in DLA Piper's Vancouver office with a business law practice focused on video game, media and information technology businesses. He advises companies ranging from one-person independent studios to AAA studios on licensing and master service agreements, publishing and distribution deals, consumer protection, marketing and privacy matters, and technology sales and procurement. Tyson also provides strategic advice on investing in and expanding operations into Canada, particularly for video game studios and technology businesses. As a former television executive, he understands the client side of the lawyer-client relationship and works to provide practical solutions. Tyson received a Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia. His areas of focus include technology, corporate, intellectual property, technology and commercial transactions, emerging growth and venture capital, and artificial intelligence and data analytics. He is recognized in Information Technology Law in Vancouver by Best Lawyers in Canada and was admitted to the British Columbia Bar in 2014.
