Tom practises in the areas of corporate/commercial litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution. He has a wide variety of experience with particular focus on complex construction and contract disputes and commercial real estate disputes.
Tom regularly represents clients before all levels of court in Alberta as well as in arbitrations. Tom has also acted for clients before the Supreme Court of Yukon and the Tax Court of Canada.
Litigation counsel for FLINT Corp. in a recapitalization transaction successfully implemented pursuant to a court-approved plan of arrangement
Arbitration counsel for an owner in a dispute worth over C$1-billion about construction issues relating to a large pipeline project, which was successfully resolved
Co-counsel for Suncor Energy Inc. in successfully defending an action seeking to set aside a C$1-billion transaction (see TotalEnergies EP Canada v. Suncor Energy Inc., 2023 ABKB 59) (awarded Impact Case of the Year at the Benchmark Canada Awards 2024)
