Overview

Morgan T. McDonald is a partner in DLA Piper's Vancouver office and a business lawyer practising corporate and commercial law. She works with companies from startup through growth and later operating stages, with a focus on founders and established technology businesses in software, gaming, e-commerce, artificial intelligence, cloud computing and privacy. Morgan also assists clients in cannabis and psychedelics sectors as they navigate new regulation and rapid growth. Her work spans company formation, shareholder and founder agreements, intellectual property creation and commercialization, go-to-market contracts, licensing and subscription agreements, employment and contractor arrangements, compensation plans, debt and equity financings, private equity and venture capital transactions, and mergers and acquisitions. She mentors entrepreneurs through accelerators and incubators and provides office hours. Before earning an LL.M. from the University of British Columbia, Morgan externed at the United States District Court for the Central District of California and was called to the California State Bar. She is also admitted in British Columbia.
