Overview

Michael E. Reid is a partner in DLA Piper's Vancouver office and a corporate law generalist with a technology focus. He works with entrepreneurs, founders and executives at startup and growth-stage companies across sectors including software, e-commerce, gaming, productivity tools, artificial intelligence, VR/AR, healthtech, fintech, consumer goods, food and beverage, and life sciences. His practice covers company formation, structuring, shareholder agreements, governance, intellectual property creation and commercialization, employment and contractor matters, B2B and B2C contracting, financing, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions. Before practising law, Michael worked in marketing and communications for a wide range of clients, bringing practical business experience to his legal advice. He has particular expertise advising startups and has written articles offering tips, tools and programs for entrepreneurs. Michael's areas of focus include corporate, technology, intellectual property, private equity, and technology and commercial transactions. He was admitted to the British Columbia Bar in 2011.
