Marissa Caldwell is a partner in our Business Law Group, based in Toronto. Marissa advises clients in a broad range of sectors on strategies and issues relating to intellectual property, marketing and advertising, consumer products, retail and e-commerce, privacy, and broadcasting and telecommunications.

As a licensed trademark agent, Marissa has helped to obtain trademark registrations for clients in a wide range of industries. Marissa also advises clients on the protection and enforcement of their trademark rights, and has represented numerous clients before the Trademarks Opposition Board and Federal Court.

Marissa also brings her trademark knowledge to her marketing and advertising practice, where she advises clients with respect to false and misleading advertising, influencer marketing, gaming advertising, contests and sweepstakes, and responding to regulatory complaints, including those from Health Canada, the Competition Bureau, and Ad Standards. Marissa has a wealth of experience advising clients on, and negotiating, major sponsorship agreements in the sports and entertainment industries, having acted for and opposite major North American sports leagues and international sports federations.
