Ian Caines is a Partner in Davies' Toronto Tax group. He advises on domestic and international income tax law, including mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, financings, investment products and tax disputes. With a background in mathematics and technology and experience at a technology startup, he advises corporations, funds and financial institutions on tax issues affecting emerging technologies. He is a frequent speaker at national and international industry conferences and previously practised at a national law firm and a prominent New York-based international law firm.
