Debra Finlay* is a senior partner in the Business Law Group in Vancouver. While Debra’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions and complex commercial transactions, she guides domestic and international clients through a wide range of business law issues.She has over 20 years of experience leading deal teams covering a wide range of industries. Clients trust her strategic advice and creative solutions, to manage both challenges and opportunities to get deals done.Debra is an active member of the community and currently sits on the Board of Governors of the BC Business Council, Trustmark Oversight Board of The Digital Identification and Authentication Council of Canada and the Board of Ocean Wise. Within McCarthy Tétrault, Debra led the development of a thought leadership program for clients and friends of the firm held at the Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue. Some of the program’s topics included Vancouver’s crime and policing, arts and culture within the city, and the future of the Port of Vancouver.Debra is a former adjunct professor at the Faculty of Law, University of British Columbia.Debra attended the University of Calgary obtaining her BA in 1988 and her LLB in 1992.
