Ava Arbuck has a broad range of experience emanating from her background in criminal law. She has conducted criminal trials and argued criminal appeals before all levels of court in Ontario. She worked as a Prosecutions Liaison at the College of Nurses of Ontario. She provided research and advice to the Director of Justice Excellence, Ministry of the Attorney General, from 2010-2013 regarding projects, reviews and publications relating to a variety of criminal law issues.

Ava also has experience with public inquiries. She was Manager of Outreach and Counselling, and Staff Lawyer to the Public Inquiry into Pediatric Forensic Pathology (“Goudge Inquiry”) from 2007-2008, and was Staff Lawyer to the City of Mississauga Judicial Inquiry from 2009-2011.

Ava taught an introductory course in Criminal Law for the RCMP Civilian Recruits (General Forensic Biology Unit) at Trent University, has participated in presentations relating to Wrongful Convictions, and participated in the Ontario Justice Education Network (OJEN) High School Mock trial competitions.
