Overview

### Bio
Louis-Pierre Grégoire is a partner in Gowling WLG’s Ottawa office and a construction law specialist who focuses on complex disputes and contract strategy arising from infrastructure and major construction projects.
LP advises and represents owners, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, sureties, lenders, and consultants across the full construction lifecycle, from procurement and contract structuring through to dispute resolution by negotiation, adjudication, arbitration, and litigation.
With a background in civil engineering, LP brings a practical, technical perspective to disputes involving delay, cost overruns, design deficiencies, performance failures, breach of contract, and payment issues, including claims by and against payors. He is particularly effective on large, document-intensive matters, where his ability to analyze complex data sets and develop creative, risk-based solutions is critical.
LP is regularly engaged on high-value, multi-party disputes involving major infrastructure projects and prominent institutional and commercial developments, including energy and industrial facilities, transportation systems, healthcare and educational institutions, and large-scale residential projects.
In addition to dispute resolution, LP advises on contract structuring and risk allocation. He has extensive experience drafting and negotiating supplementary conditions to CCDC contracts, as well as consultant agreements and bespoke project agreements tailored to complex delivery models.
LP is known for delivering practical, solutions-oriented advice grounded in both legal and technical insight. He is a frequent speaker on construction law topics, including the modernization of Ontario’s Construction Act.
Fluently bilingual, LP practises in both English and French.
