Overview

Maya Poliak Partner Maya’s areas of expertise span litigation, bankruptcy and insolvency. Her practice focuses on general commercial litigation and insolvency and restructuring, with an emphasis on receiverships, liquidations and securities enforcement and reorganizations under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act, the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and the Personal Property Security Act. Maya advises debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, court-appointed officers, purchasers, financiers and other major stakeholders on domestic and cross-border insolvency and restructuring matters. She appears regularly before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, including the Commercial List and has appeared as counsel at all levels of the Ontario courts. Outside of the office Maya is involved in numerous organizations related to her work. Maya serves on the board of the Turnaround Management Association and the Ontario Bar Association’s Insolvency Chapter.
