Emily Assini is a partner in the firm’s Class Actions group and focuses her practice on complex class proceedings, mass torts, and multi-party litigation. Her work includes pharmaceutical and product liability litigation, consumer protection matters, cyber security incidents, and insolvency-related proceedings. She has appeared before courts at all levels in Ontario and is called to the bar in Ontario and British Columbia.

Emily frequently works alongside plaintiff counsel across Canada on large and complex cases, including coordinated and multi-jurisdictional class proceedings. She is known for her collaborative approach and her ability to work effectively with co-counsel to advance litigation strategy and case development.

She is actively engaged in the plaintiffs’ bar and is committed to building a strong and collaborative legal community. Emily is the founder of Women of Class, a networking initiative that brings together female-identifying plaintiffs’ counsel to foster mentorship, professional connection, and collaboration within the class actions community. She currently co-chairs the Cambridge Forum on Canadian Class Actions and is also a past member of the Ontario Bar Association Class Actions Section Executive.

Emily’s commitment to service extends beyond her legal practice. She currently sits as a member of the Board of Directors of Ronald McDonald House Southwestern Ontario and completed long tenures as a member of the Board of Directors at both SARI Therapeutic Riding and Big Brothers Big Sisters of London and Area.

Outside of the office, Emily is an avid skier and equestrian.
