Robert (Bob) Tchegus

Robert (Bob) Tchegus is our firm’s Senior Partner. He has been designated by the Law Society of Ontario as a Certified Specialist in Real Estate Law since 2004. He restricts his practice to real estate matters.

Bob graduated from Queen’s University’s Law School in 1986 and has been with Cunningham Swan since 1987. He has taught property law for the LSO Bar Admission Course, Ontario Real Estate Association, St. Lawrence College, Queen’s University and Toronto Metropolitan University. He has written and been a frequent guest lecturer and panelist for LSO, Ontario Bar Association (“OBA”), Canadian Bar Association and Frontenac Law Association, all in which he maintains membership.

Bob spent many years as a Part-time Member for both the Ontario Assessment Review Board and the Federal Payments in Lieu of Taxes Dispute Advisory Panel.

Today, Bob can be found assisting a variety of clients, from first-time home buyers to public and private financial institutions, in providing transactional, planning, and development assistance or expert legal opinions involving real estate law.

With strong ties to the Kingston community, Bob has been a provincially appointed Commissioner for the St. Lawrence Parks Commission and Board Chair of the Queen’s University Foundation.

When he is not working, Bob and his wife Deb can be found chasing their Vizsla, Lucy.
