Lawyer Profile
Lawrence J. Stordy
Halifax, Nova Scotia

Overview
With decades of experience, Larry has advised companies, founders, investors and Boards on complex mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and strategic business transactions. He brings deep sector experience across virtually every industry, acting as both external lead counsel on transformative deals and as trusted general counsel supporting the full spectrum of day-to-day corporate issues.
His practice spans domestic and cross-border M&A, private equity transactions, corporate reorganizations, succession planning, shareholder matters, and commercial contracting. Known for his practical judgment and steady, solutions-oriented approach, he helps clients manage risk, navigate negotiations, and close high-value deals with clarity and confidence.
He has developed niche, market-leading expertise in Public Private Partnerships, with a particular focus in the healthcare sector. Representing private service providers delivering government-mandated services on high-value ($B+), multi-decade contracts, he acts as both lead counsel and primary negotiator with government, guiding clients through complex, high-stakes regulatory and commercial frameworks. He also has extensive experience advising on government procurement, national security, and defence-related matters.
His background includes substantial experience in technology, startups and venture capital; roll-up strategies for private equity and venture capital clients acquiring entire industry groups – including multi-company consolidations in Canada, the United States and Europe; and advising on going-private transactions for public companies. He has led large, multi-jurisdictional transactions, supported multi-entity mergers, and structured long-term arrangements that position clients for successful operations and eventual exits.
