Overview

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our former Partner, Steve Bernardo, on July 3, 2024. Steve joined Mathews Dinsdale in 1971, and by the time he retired in 2020, he had dedicated almost 50 years to the Firm. His keen business instincts and his practical approach made him a significant figure in both Ontario and Federal labour law. Steve was an outstanding lawyer and a remarkable mentor to generations of younger lawyers at the Firm, whose careers he helped shape. Steve had endless enthusiasm and unwavering dedication to his clients. He was highly respected in the legal community, and many in it considered him a friend. Steve will be profoundly missed. Our thoughts are with his family.
