Overview

Martin J. Valasek is a partner and co-head of Bennett Jones' International Arbitration Practice Group. He acts as counsel and arbitrator in investor-state and commercial contract disputes across industries including energy, mining, construction, forestry, aerospace, banking, pharmaceuticals and manufacturing. He has worked under ICC, LCIA, ICSID and UNCITRAL rules and has acted as arbitrator and tribunal secretary. He clerked for Justice Gonthier of the Supreme Court of Canada and was editor-in-chief of the McGill Law Journal.
