Overview

Denise Duifhuis is Corporate Counsel in the firm's Vancouver office. She advises on a broad range of corporate law matters, with a focus on the formation and governance of companies, limited partnerships, and other business entities, and corporate reorganizations and transactions.
Denise plays a key role in developing and maintaining practical tools for the firm's corporate and corporate services teams in Vancouver, including checklists, precedents, and other core practice resources. Known for her deep familiarity with corporate compliance requirements - including beneficial ownership and transparency register obligations - she also contributes to internal training and knowledge-sharing on corporate law matters.

Prior to joining Stikeman Elliott, Denise was General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for a company establishing a stock exchange for real estate related securities. She was Senior Legal Counsel at the British Columbia Securities Commission for five years and before that practised corporate and securities law in Vancouver for over seven years.
