Overview
Craig Story is a partner in the Corporate Group. He has served on the firm’s Partnership Board, as well as on the management committee for the Calgary office. Craig’s practice focuses on corporate and securities law, including private equity and venture capital funds and their portfolio investments, private and public capital markets offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance.
His corporate finance practice includes advising issuers, major investors and underwriters in both the public and exempt markets. Specific transaction experience includes private equity and venture capital fund creation; portfolio company investments, add-ons and divestitures; restructurings; private placements; bought deals; MJDS offerings; shelf prospectuses; and initial public offerings. Craig advises fund clients, private capital firms, other issuers and special committees with respect to numerous types of mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic and restructuring transactions. Representative clients include private equity and private capital firms and their portfolio companies, energy companies, service and infrastructure companies, midstream companies, real estate businesses, agribusinesses, and investment bankers.
Craig has been counsel to issuers and underwriters with respect to private placements and public offerings, including cross-border offerings for both debt and equity financings. He has also provided advice to private equity funds with respect to structuring, financing, investment and divestiture matters.
Craig is a member of the Law Society of Alberta and the Canadian and Calgary Bar Associations. He is also a member of Canada’s Venture Capital & Private Equity Association.
