Overview

Amyn F. Lalji is a partner at MLT Aikins in Vancouver and previously was a partner at Miller Thomson LLP. He has more than 20 years of experience representing Indigenous clients in negotiations and advocacy concerning major resource-based projects and economic development initiatives. His work includes mines, hydroelectric projects, oil and gas projects, pipelines, aggregate projects and other large resource developments. He represents First Nations in collaborative agreements with industry and government, and advocates for section 35 rights before courts and tribunals. He also advises Indigenous governments, leaders and development corporations on governance, tax, trusts, litigation, employment and corporate matters. He has been recognized as a leading lawyer in Aboriginal law and is called to the bars of British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan, with an LLB from Dalhousie and a BA from Simon Fraser.
