Justine Mageau, Co-Chair of Witten’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution group, focuses her practice primarily on civil litigation, employment law and Indigenous law. She has broad litigation experience ranging from commercial disputes to constitutional matters. She is fluent in French and English and serves clients in both languages.
Justine has represented clients at all levels of court in Alberta, at the Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal, the Supreme Court of Canada, as well as before more than a dozen administrative boards, tribunals and arbitration panels.
Committed to the community, Justine has held several notable positions with not-for-profit societies and charitable organizations, including as vice-president of the Fédération des parents francophones de l’Alberta, as director of the Association des juristes d’expression française de l’Alberta and as a member of the executive of various Canadian Bar Association sections. Most recently, Justine joined the Board of Directors of St. Michael’s Health Group. She has also contributed to the legal community by volunteering as a judge, practice round judge and coach for the University of Alberta’s Laskin and Bastarache moot court teams.
In recognition of her dedication to bettering the community she lives in, Justine was recently named one of Edmonton’s Top 40 Under 40 by Edify magazine.
