Overview
Jason Kully is a partner in our Edmonton office with a practice focused on professional regulation, labour and employment, and administrative law. He helps a wide range of clients - including professional regulatory organizations, post-secondary institutions, and businesses of all sizes - navigate legal and strategic issues.
Jason works extensively with Alberta universities and other post-secondary institutions. He advises on governance, institutional policies, employment matters, human rights, legislative compliance, and labour relations. He has served as a spokesperson during collective bargaining and supports clients throughout the negotiation and administration of collective agreements.
In his labour and employment practice, Jason provides practical, strategic advice on issues such as:
Jason is a member of Field Law’s Workplace Investigations Group, and has completed trauma-informed investigation training. He also regularly delivers training workshops on regulatory processes, workplace investigations, and employment law.
Earlier in his career, Jason served as a judicial clerk at the Alberta Court of King’s Bench, an experience that strengthened his advocacy skills and courtroom insight. Although based in Edmonton, he serves clients throughout Alberta.
Jason is also dedicated to legal education and community service. He teaches human rights law at the University of Alberta Faculty of Law and was awarded the Pringle/Royal Sessional Teaching Excellence Award in 2025. Jason also provides pro bono assistance to Student Legal Services of Edmonton, supporting its Human Rights Project.
