Overview

Trina’s practice focuses on employment law and the related areas of human rights, privacy and administrative law.

Trina assists clients in all aspects of the employment relationship including discipline and termination, duty to accommodate, drug and alcohol testing and policy issues, workplace investigations, drafting employment agreements and policy documents, providing training to management staff, negotiating resolutions, and representing clients in litigation before the courts as well as Canada Labour Code adjudications and human rights commission hearings.

Having worked with and represented Indigenous governments for more than two decades, Trina is experienced in dealing with legal issues unique to First Nation employment. In addition to acting as employment counsel, Trina has assisted First Nations in their governance and community development by drafting election legislation, membership codes, and a wide range of bylaws and policies designed to meet the specific legal needs of First Nation communities.
