Overview

Amy practices primarily in the areas of wills and estates, administrative law, and human rights law.

In her work as an estate lawyer, Amy assists clients with estate planning, administration, and litigation. She provides a full range of estate services to clients, from preparing Wills, Personal Directives, and Powers of Attorney, to guiding executors through probate or other grant applications and the estate administration process. Amy has extensive experience in estate matters relating to people with disabilities, including adult guardianship and trusteeship applications, family maintenance and support applications, and advising clients on providing for loved ones with disabilities in their estate planning.

In her administrative law practice, Amy serves as external counsel to a number of administrative decision-makers, boards, and tribunals. She has also represented clients before provincial and federal administrative tribunals, including the Alberta Human Rights Commission and the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal. Her litigation and administrative law work regularly involves disability and human rights issues, which are a primary focus of her work.

Amy articled with the ARCH Disability Law Centre in Toronto, Ontario, where she was called to the Bar before returning to Alberta in 2010. In addition to her work before administrative bodies, she has represented clients before all levels of Court in Alberta.
