Rebecca practised securities and corporate commercial law as a partner with BLG in Toronto, focusing on compliance, regulatory and governance issues for the investment management industry. She advised fund managers, portfolio managers and dealers on establishing and administering investment products, fund governance requirements and securities-registration compliance. Before joining BLG in November 2003, she spent nine years as a senior investment funds regulator with the Ontario Securities Commission. Her work combined more than 25 years of experience in investment management as both a lawyer and regulator.
