Overview

Olivier V. Nguyen is an Associate in Stikeman Elliott's Montréal office, where he practices international trade. He advises clients on customs compliance, import and export controls, free-trade agreements, customs valuation and tariff classification, anti-dumping and countervailing matters, economic sanctions, the Controlled Group Program and cross-border mergers and acquisitions. Olivier is a member of the Ontario Bar and the Québec Bar. He earned a J.D. with high distinction from the University of Ottawa and a joint-honours B.A. in Economics and Finance from McGill University. During his studies, he received the Osgoode Society for Canadian Legal History award and the Law Society of Upper Canada Award for Outstanding Achievement in Legal Studies. His representative work includes acting as Canadian counsel to Cobham Ultra, a portfolio company of Advent, in its agreement to sell Ultra Maritime to Lockheed Martin. He has also written about CPTPP opportunities and risks for Canadian businesses.
