Overview

Nadir André is a Partner at JFK Law in Kahnawake, Quebec, with more than 25 years of experience representing Indigenous governments, organizations and businesses across Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba and Atlantic Canada. A member of the Innu Matimekush-Lac John Nation, he advises clients on Aboriginal and Indigenous rights, title claims, the duty to consult and accommodate, specific and comprehensive land claims, modern treaty implementation, self-determination and governance negotiations. His work also includes nation building, business law, natural-resource agreements and strategic partnerships involving fisheries, energy, mining, forestry and infrastructure. Nadir negotiates with governments, proponents and other Indigenous Nations and manages claims through preparation, negotiation, settlement and litigation. He regularly shares his knowledge through lectures, conferences, client presentations, writing and media interviews, and is fluent in French and English. He holds an LL.L. from the University of Ottawa’s civil law program.
