Overview

Michael Saliken is a Partner in the Capital Markets Group at Cassels in Calgary. He advises private and public companies, investors, founders and boards on complex transactions across the energy, technology, artificial intelligence, life sciences and venture capital industries. His work includes mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, venture capital and private equity financings, public listings and other corporate finance matters. Recent work listed by Cassels includes bought-deal and LIFE offerings, strategic financing, an acquisition of a power plant, a solar-development sale and investments through the University of Alberta Innovation Fund. Before joining Cassels, Michael practised for more than 15 years at a leading national firm, where he co-founded a Psychedelics and Cannabis Focus Group and served on national steering committees. He holds an LL.B. from the University of Alberta and a B.Comm. in Finance with Distinction from the University of Calgary. He is also a board member of CUPS Calgary Society.
