Overview

Matthew Riskin is a Partner in McLennan Ross's Edmonton office and a member of the firm's Health Law, Commercial Litigation and Labour & Employment groups. In health law, he advises and defends medical professionals in negligence claims, regulatory proceedings and administrative proceedings. His commercial litigation practice includes corporate and commercial disputes, professional negligence and general litigation in the financial services and brokerage industries. Before entering law, Matt worked in management consulting, commodities trading and portfolio management, experience that informs his commercially minded strategic advice. He also advises on employment matters through strategic advice, civil litigation and administrative proceedings. Matt has extensive trial experience and appears before all levels of court in Alberta and Saskatchewan, as well as arbitrators and administrative tribunals. He was called to the Alberta Bar in 2015 and the Northwest Territories Bar in 2026.
