Overview

Julie G. Hopkins is an independent commercial arbitrator and mediator based in Calgary and a member of Western Arbitration Chambers. She previously served as counsel at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, where she practised commercial litigation, arbitration, and administrative law for more than 25 years. Her experience includes disputes in electricity generation and transmission, oil and gas, construction, aviation, trucking, real estate development, health care, and cannabis, as well as shareholder, limited partnership, joint venture, franchise, asset purchase, cogeneration, and maintenance agreement matters. As an arbitrator, she has acted as sole arbitrator, chair, and co-arbitrator in ad hoc, institutional, domestic, and international proceedings. She is listed on arbitral rosters including CPR, ICDR Canada, and the Vancouver International Commercial Arbitration Centre. Hopkins is a Fellow of CIArb and a past chair of its Canada Branch.
