Gar Knutson is Principal of Gar Knutson Government Relations in Ottawa. He practises government relations in Ottawa and internationally for clients in sectors including oil and gas and aerospace, and acts as general counsel for embassies in Ottawa. He was counsel at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP from 2004 to 2018 and led the firm's government relations practice in Ottawa. Before that, he served as a Liberal Member of Parliament for Elgin Middlesex London, as Parliamentary Secretary to Prime Minister Jean Chrétien, and as Secretary of State and Minister of State for International Trade.
