BD&P acted as counsel to Alaris Equity Partners Inc. in connection with its $75.3 million investment into Kubik Limited Partnership which closed on April 2, 2026. Alaris' investment consists of $62.5 million of debt and preferred equity and $12.8 million of common equity.
Counsel to MEG Energy Corp. and its board of directors in its $8.6 billion acquisition by Cenovus Energy, which closed on November 13, 2025, following an unsolicited take-over bid from Strathcona Resources and strategic review process.
BDP acted as counsel to Alaris Equity Partners in connection with its $115.5 investment into Optimus SBR Inc. and Optimus SBR Limited Partnership which closed on November 6, 2025 . Alaris’ investment consists of $85.0 million of preferred equity and $30.5 million of common equity.
Counsel for Maxim Power Corp. in respect to the sale of Summit Coal Inc. and Summit Coal Limited Partnership to Valory Resources Inc. for $14.2 million. Concurrent with the sale, Maxim and Summit entered into an agreement such that Maxim receives a 3% royalty on any raw coal produced from the coal lease currently owned by Summit, and Maxim through its subsidiary Milner Power Inc. entered into a ground lease, with a nominee of Valory for the construction and operation of a coal processing facility.
Counsel to Graham Group Ltd., a Calgary-based construction solutions company, in its acquisition of the Canadian assets and business of Rokstad Power (2018) Ltd. from its court-appointed receiver for CAD $20,000,000.00.
