Lawyer Profile

David A. Crerar

Vancouver, British Columbia

Borden Ladner Gervais LLP

Overview

Justice David A. Crerar was appointed to the Supreme Court of British Columbia in 2019 and sits in Vancouver. Before his appointment, he was a partner in BLG's Vancouver office and led its national Defamation and Media Group. His practice included complex commercial and shareholder disputes, Internet litigation, banking and pension litigation, and defamation and media matters. He appeared before the courts of British Columbia and other Canadian courts, and his work included urgent injunction proceedings. He was a co-editor and co-author of Canadian civil procedure materials and author of a leading text on Mareva and Anton Piller orders. Justice Crerar earned a BA and LLB from the University of Toronto and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 1998. His judicial appointment and Vancouver location are current, while his former BLG practice explains the identity match and the replacement of the stale lawyer listing.
