Overview

Churyl Elgart is an independent arbitrator, mediator and lawyer practising through Elgart Law in Calgary. Her practice focuses on municipal and planning law, real estate development and expropriations, and she is available across Alberta. She has resolved disputes through legal practice since 2000, including advocacy before councils, tribunals and courts, and she is an Inquiry Officer under the Alberta Expropriation Act. She has served as legal counsel to a planning board since 2014. Before moving to independent practice, she was Counsel at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP and a Partner at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP. Her recent training includes Med-Arb and commercial arbitration certificates and a 2023 certificate in mediating litigated cases from Pepperdine University.
