Carol E. Derk is Senior Counsel in BLG’s Toronto office and a member of the Securities and Capital Markets Group. She is the national leader of BLG’s Derivatives Group and Digital Asset Group. She practises securities law, specializing in derivatives, investment funds and digital assets. Her digital asset practice includes advising on investment products, crypto asset trading platforms, security token platforms, staking, decentralized finance and NFTs. Her derivatives work includes negotiating documentation, advising on regulatory compliance and developing derivatives-based investment products. She is a regular speaker at seminars and conferences on digital assets, derivatives and investment funds, and is sought after for her expertise in the digital-assets sphere. Her practice also covers exchange-traded funds, structured products, closed-end funds and mutual funds.
