Overview

Andrew Powers is a Partner at Miller Thomson in Toronto and co-leads the firm's Mining Law Group while serving in its Business Law Group. His practice covers corporate and securities law, including corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and shareholder activism. He advises issuers, institutional investors, broker-dealers, acquirers and target companies on public and private securities offerings, debt and equity capital markets transactions, takeover bids, plans of arrangement, reverse takeovers and other business combinations. He also advises mining and natural-resources companies through project development, construction and operation, including Indigenous issues and claims, environmental and regulatory compliance, permitting, mine closure, decommissioning and reclamation, and works on transactions and commercial arrangements in the cannabis sector.
