Anaïs Bussières McNicoll is Director of the Fundamental Freedoms Program at the Canadian Civil Liberties Association (CCLA). She manages litigation files involving fundamental freedoms, democratic rights and mobility rights, and participates in efforts to challenge provincial use of the notwithstanding clause. Before joining CCLA, she was a partner in a national law firm focused on public and constitutional law and civil law, including complex appellate matters before the Supreme Court of Canada. She was called to the Quebec Bar in 2015 after earning a law degree from the University of Montreal and completing a two-year clerkship at the Quebec Court of Appeal.
